At the end of Q2/2011, the GC System company successfully completed the necessary certification procedures for authorisation for IBM Dynamic Infrastructure – the highest "Elite" level. One year earlier, GC System reached the first "Specialty" level, for which it had to undergo a large number of business and technical certifications (about 180 certifications). For the highest Elite level, it was necessary to go through 120 additional certifications in the sphere of Virtualisation, Consolidation, Disaster Recovery and Business Resiliency. This demanding "examination period" was completed by an Enablement Workshop organised in the IBM Germany laboratories in Boeblingen. This 4-day enablement workshop included the final test of the workgroup of professionals from GC System, when they worked under supervision by the DI specialists from IBM WW on model cases, designs of data centre architecture, consolidation of the existing architecture to improve performance and safety, reduction of power consumption and general reduction of operating costs. In this enablement workshop stage, 8 business partners from the EMEA region took part. According to evaluation by the DI team management of IBM WW, GC System was among the three best business partners in the field of Dynamic Infrastructure. GC System is the only partner for Dynamic Infrastructure in the territory of the Czech Republic. It is also the first partner in the CEE region with this authorisation.
Achieving this certification level is a considerable asset for improving the level of the provided business and technological services for customers and, last but not least, GC System thereby strengthened its cooperation with IBM at the global level.
Dynamic Infrastructure is a new conception of data centre designing with regard to minimum power consumption, maximum operating safety and maximum safety of the customer's data.
